Brief: Create a new mobile application.
Category: Education
Identified problem: Special needs teens don’t have enough structure and motivation when home-schooling. Both parents and their special needs teens need a tool that engages them in their school work while staying organized and on task.

Solution: Lilsprouts app will allow them to stay organized and motivated to learn, when home-schooling. This app makes this possible with daily, weekly and monthly timetables, a progress tracker and an app mascot. It also provides more resources for parents and allows teens to tick off completed tasks and earn rewards.

Concept rationale: The bright and simple color-blocking user interface paired with the app mascot named Sproot creates a fun atmosphere for learning. On the app logo, the smiley face means happy learning, the sprout is a representation of the users’ growth and the purple eyes are symbolic of persons with special needs in Singapore, in reference to the annual Purple Parade that celebrates and raises awareness for them.
